The University of Chicago researchers discovered the average wavelength of cell tissue in the human body ranged between 600 nanometres and 720nm

660nm is the mid-point - current studies are showing 660nm is most effective at pain reduction and tissue regeneration than any other single frequency tested.

Another reason to this phenomena may be due to the fact that 660nm absorbs more readily in haemoglobin encouraging improved circulation .

As we move towards the red end of the light spectrum, the rate of cellular regeneration increased. Research has shown migration to infrared and the 660 nanometre wavelength produced an accelerated regeneration of tissue.
